3 layers
12" Styrofoam-- note to self: experiment more with styrofoam. I don't know if it was just the warm day, but the frosting tended to bubble away from the styrofoam as it sat, even though it was coated with a layer of shortening. Next time try frosting with Royal icing first, then Buttercream frosting on top.
8" White cake with strawberry filling
6" White cake with strawberry filling
Ribbon around the base of each layer. Silk Gerber Daisies to accent.
I added a cake board plate supported by dowels all hidden under the frosting on the top layer for the bride and groom figurine to stand on. I told the Mother of the Bride to make sure to take the topper off before cutting the cake to make sure it didn't topple down if it was bumped.
I set up the cake, took the photos, and then the Mother of the Bride moved a picture frame from the window sill to the cake table, and damaged the side of the cake in the process. I fixed it up as well as I could, but at least it was on the side and not the front! And it wasn't my fault :)
